Even before this Elon was a competitor for one of the all-time wackest posters on this site. A sweaty reply-guy for the worst accounts on here, a joke-thief and a bore, and a relentless, charmless ROFL emoji donkey in every facet. At this point he's clearly the worst poster ever.

On a previous episode of Go Time we discussed binary bloat, and how the Go protocol buffer implementation is a big offender. In this episode we dive into the history of protocol buffers and gRPC, then we discuss how the protocol and the implementation can vary and lead to things like binary bloat.

Mastodon is a train wreck. Someone needs to build a twitter clone… nothing fancy, just like twitter and allow you to grab your twitter handle. I know python, I'll see what I can whip up this weekend. According to Musk it's not that hard and doesn't take a lot of people.

Yes is the short answer - Aaron Parecki has been working on it and it seems like it takes a good chunk of time to do it right. I've been using https://fed.brid.gy to allow folks to follow my site at @www.jvt.me and I send webmentions to Bridgy to auto-syndicate my posts to my followers' servers. Means I don't need an RSS->Mastodon bot and outsources all the hard work to the service built by the wonderful Ryan Barrett which may be of interest, but could also be a little too much work if you'd prefer to avoid doing it with adding a bot
