This whole conference debacle is so disappointing. Speakers, when invited to a conf will say “who alls gonna be there?” I’ve my rules for participation posted on my site - including an inclusive lineup - for years. I was duped by the fake speakers also. I remind all conf organizers that there are THOUSANDS of speakers of all walks of life, genders, ages, backgrounds. I offer 920 for you to invite to your confs http://hanselminutes.com/episodes inclusion means doing the work. So, do the work, friends.

@shanselman racist uncle Bob fronting the lineup, followed by anti-woke DHH. Who could have guessed a conference like that would have such a dark side?

I always thought of [Spoon Theory](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spoon_theory) as covering chronic illnesses with physical impact, so I've avoided using it for myself. I say "cognitive resources" instead to describe my similar but not identical #ADHD issues. But maybe I can have a little fun with it. What about "Spork Theory?" I've got an entire damn drawer of resources, but they're individually wrapped, not reusable, not well-suited to any one task, and break if you try too hard.

Poverty shouldn't exist. For anyone. Ever. Too often I hear 'No one with a job should live in poverty.' True. But let's go further. No one should live in poverty, job or not. Jobs should be a ticket to more than just survival. Think thriving, not surviving; buying fun, not life.

Wow. https://archive.is/wAt0i, an archived copy of https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-11-22/nlrb-files-case-against-mozilla-for-not-hiring-labor-activist. This is really what I'm afraid of. And I'm stupid findable on the Web (thanks to not using an alias — that bit me in the ass very fast — like in 2013, but whatever). I'm hoping Cher wins this case; I'll be following it closely. Especially because I've applied like four times at Mozilla with not as much as a reply if the role was closed or anything. Sidenote, though, I hate the fact that's this idea that we can sign away rights because we have a contract — and that's never clear if it's actually the case. I really am glad she stood up.
